Police arrest suspect in fatal Sheepshead Bay hammer attack

Police say a man is under arrest in connection with a Sheepshead Bay hammer attack that left a person dead and two others seriously injured.
Authorities arrested Arthur Martunovich, 34, and charged him with murder, two counts of attempted murder and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
The incident happened at 5 p.m. Tuesday inside Seaport Buffet on Emmons Avenue. Police say Martunovich stormed into the restaurant holding a hammer and began attacking people inside, killing 34-year-old chef Fufai Pun.
Investigators say the suspect also attacked the 60-year-old owner of the restaurant and the 50-year-old manager. Both are in critical condition.
Police tell News 12 that Martunovich tried to run after the attack but didn't get very far before authorities were able to grab him.
Martunovich was carried out of the 60th Precinct by NYPD Emergency Services. Police say he was being combative inside the precinct and was unable to be walked out. He underwent a psychiatric evaluation after the attack.
Police say it appears the attack was unprovoked.
