It's a dangerous intersection, according to residents, and it is finally getting some much-needed attention.
The intersection of Ocean Parkway and Church Avenue has been the scene of several accidents.

The last deadly accident happened in February of last year, an accident that prompted the city’s Department of Transportation to act.
Those plans are now underway. The project will extend medians and sidewalks with concrete extensions. Some other medians and sidewalks will be painted and marked.

Some residents told News 12 the big problem at the intersection is pedestrians have the walk signal as traffic from both directions along Church Avenue try to turn onto the Prospect Expressway.

Pedestrians say they hope the work being done by the DOT helps keep people safe.
