A Brooklyn resident has been giving back o his community for half a decade by getting kids and their parents ready to go back to school.
DJ Castro has been the heart and soul of the "Kool for Skool" school supply drive since it started back in 2014. The event is both an end-of-summer celebration and a kickoff to the new school year, with enough school supplies for everyone who attends.
This year, DJ Castro says he's stepping the event up a notch, with food, bouncy houses, face painting, friendly clowns and dancing.
An estimated 300 to 400 kids were taking part in Saturday's event in East Flatbush.
