Fuhgeddaboudit Food: Oxomoco

One Greenpoint restaurant is putting its own unique flavor on traditional Mexican food.
Tlayuda made on a large corn tortilla topped with fresh corn, herbs and cheese, toasted on a wood fired grill is a signature dish at Oxomoco.
"We have taken traditional styles of Mexican ingredients and recipes and sort of put a little twist on those recipes, to sort of put our wood fired accent on the food that's already so rich and vibrant," said Justin Bazdarich, executive chef and owner.
Bazdarich says he was inspired to open the restaurant after spending time in Mexico.
He says he makes sure to stay true to Mexican cuisine while still managing to give it a personal touch, like he does in a beef tartare that's made with a special grasshopper mayonnaise and topped with toasted crickets.
