Kids put vibrant costumes on display for Junior Carnival Parade

The Junior Carnival Parade stepped off Saturday, letting kids celebrate with their own event ahead of the West Indian American Day Carnival Parade.
Kids marched to the Brooklyn Museum, proudly strutting their brilliant outfits and rich heritage down the parade route.
The parade ended with lots of food, plus the crowning of a junior king and queen.
Organizers say they hope the event gives kids a greater appreciation for Caribbean culture. Parents say the event is a great way to teach kids about their heritage.
