Gamers descend on Barclays Center for massive esports event

Thousands of gamers were descending on the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this weekend for the professional Electronic Sports League Festival.
Close to 65,000 people were in attendance, making it the largest electronic sports league festival in North America. Fans packed into the stadium to root for their favorite teams.
Eight of the top teams in the world were taking to the stage to face off in a virtual counter-strike for one of the largest global esports titles, along with a cash prize. Fans were also able to put their skills to the test.
Organizers are calling esports the future of sports.
"This is a pastime now that we are going to be celebrating and enjoying the generations coming after us, in the same way that we grew up throwing baseballs in the backyard with our parents. So really this is just the beginning," says Craig Levine, global chief strategy officer of ESL.
