There’s no shortage of coffee shops in the borough, but one unique café in Park Slope allows guests to play board games while they get their caffeine fix.
Sip & Play is a board game café that opened on Jan. 2.
Bensonhurst native Jonathan Li grew up playing games like “Operation” and “Candyland.” He knew there has to be other who be appreciate the wholesome activity.
"Everyone knows you can go to movies, or you could grab dinner but those options in New York are quite expensive sometimes, whereas at Sip & Play $5 a person for three hours of game time is much cheaper than movies or a dinner,” says Li.

Li  is looking to make up where he believes other board game cafes are lacking. The entrepreneur wanted a bigger space and versatile menu. He also wants to emphasize it's still a cafe.

"We're not just only board games. I really want to push the aspect where we're a cafe and you can come here to work and study. We’re always open to customers who just want a quiet space,” says Li.

Li says if the shop is successful, he would like to open up a second location.
