Urban park rangers are honoring Black History Month by hosting Brooklyn’s second Underground Railroad Tour.
The interactive tour visits six different landmarks, including parts of the underground railroad, all while educating residents on the history of each neighborhood.
Park rangers say many things learned on the tour may not have been taught in traditional history classes.

“I think these are discussions that should be happening in schools, they should happen in libraries, they should be happening in parks they should be happening across New York City,” says Park Ranger Teddy Bailey. “When we don't talk about our history, then it sort of disappears.”
The tour is free and open to all ages.
