Over the last year, many parents struggled with the challenges of remote learning. A Westport father is seeking to change that.

Nat Brogadir says he didn't know what to do last September when it came to educating his 6-year-old daughter. There was no vaccine and seven of her teachers at her school decided not to return.

He decided to create a teacher marketplace as a result. The website allows teachers and tutors to put in their availability and hourly rates so parents can schedule them for in-person or remote sessions.

Brogadir says it allows teachers to work safely and students to get the extra help they may need after a year out of the classroom. So far, 10,000 teachers and tutors from across the country have made a profile on the site.

Brogadir says 10% of the revenue goes to the nonprofit Educators for Excellence.
