Hazy and hot weather arrives Thursday before a weekend cooldown

Highs could hit over 85 degrees in New York City for Thursday before a cooldown entering the weekend.

News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Allan Nosoff says Thursday will bring comfortably warm temps in the upper-70s to low-80s before a cooler Friday.
NEXT: A cold front will bring clouds and slightly cooler temps on Friday. Highs in the 60s. This weekend will be much cooler with showers returning Saturday night into Sunday.

TONIGHT: Some fog likely after midnight. Dense fog possible closer to the water. Lows down to 60.
TOMORROW - PICK OF THE WEEK: Morning fog fizzles by 10am. Then hazy, hot, and dry. Highs surge to 87. Lows near 56.
FRIDAY: Backdoor cold front flips again. More clouds and cooler. Highs only up to 67. Lows near 53.
SATURDAY: Sun to clouds. Showers possible at night, so the daytime is dry. Highs around 63. Lows near 50.
SUNDAY: Showers likely. Intensity and duration still TBD, but Sunday looks like the wetter half of the weekend. Highs near 55. Lows near 50.
MONDAY: back to the sunshine and wamrth. Highs up to 79. Lows near 58.
TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY: the heat is back on! Highs into the 80s. Lows in the upper 50s. T-storms possible late Wednesday.
