A double shooting in East New York has left one woman dead and another wounded Wednesday afternoon, police say.
Authorities say a 22-year-old woman was fatally shot once in the head on Linden Boulevard. The second victim, a 20-year-old woman, was taken to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition.
Neighbor Mary Graeff says she was at the intersection of Linden Boulevard and Jerome Street around lunchtime when she saw one body lying in front of a car and another sprawled on a sidewalk nearby.
"I saw the back of her head smoking," she says. "So I'm thinking that must've been where the bullet went."
Winchester Key, president of the 75th Precinct Council, says an inspector told him the two victims were in the company of two men at the time of the shooting.
"They [were] talking about some robbery that happened on a different time, and from that discussion [there] must've been some disagreement," Key says.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
