Police say a 15-year-old girl who confessed to murdering her mother and her mother's boyfriend inside their Brooklyn apartment was charged as an adult.
Investigators discovered the bodies of 38-year-old Rosie Sanchez and her boyfriend, 40-year-old Anderson Nunez, in the Sheepshead Bay Houses at 2364 Batchelder St. Sunday night.
Police say Sanchez's daughter, Destiny Garcia, has confessed to the slayings. They say she told detectives that her mother was abusing her.
Detectives, however, say they don't believe the slayings were an act of self-defense.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce says police are seeking another suspect who allegedly provided Garcia with the gun used in the crimes.
Investigators say Sanchez had multiple gunshot wounds, and Nunez was both shot and stabbed.
Police say they believe the victims were killed on Dec. 27 and that their bodies remained inside of the apartment until their discovery.
