A fast-moving fire tore through a Bushwick apartment building Thursday morning, injuring 16 people.
According to Fire Chief John Postal, the blaze broke out shortly after 4:30 a.m. on the second floor of 60 Somers St. and quickly spread.
Neighbor Michael Collins says a baby that was thrown out of the window by her desperate mother suffered a gash to her forehead. Another girl broke her leg.
Fire officials say both girls were hospitalized, along with a man who sustained burns to 36 percent of his body.
The Red Cross is helping displaced victims.
