A fire has left two people injured and has displaced at least five in Bensonhurst this morning.
Officials say the flames broke out at around 4:30 a.m. Firefighters say the flames began in the basement of the home at the corner of Harway and 27th avenues.
The deputy chief on scene said the small, confined space of that basement made the heat difficult to battle.
Officials say an elderly woman was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. A second person was transported as well.
