The NYPD says a 26-year-old woman has been charged in connection to an assault on two police officers.
Police say the woman, identified as Samantha Botte of Long Island, drove up to two uniformed NYPD officers who were conducting crowd control duties on Smith Street and Atlantic Avenue.
The incident happened Oct. 27 just before 10 p.m., according to authorities.
They say the officers gave Botte orders to stop for the safety of other officers and civilians on the roadway at the time. Botte refused to stop, and when she tried to flee the scene, the vehicle hit the two NYPD officers, officials say.
One officer suffered pain and swelling to the left side -- the other officer was cut on his wrist.
Botte faces six charges, including assault and reckless endangerment.
