Three Bronx men face time behind bars after admitting in federal court yesterday to scamming the IRS out of $300,000.
Prosecutors say Pedro Roman, Julio Trinidad and Luis Figaro stole the identities of several people in Puerto Rico and used them to file fake tax returns. The men then had the return checks mailed to various addresses in New Jersey.
All three suspects face up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.
