Three people were stabbed during a Fourth of July block party in East New York Friday night.
One of the victims was pronounced dead. Two others are recovering in a hospital.
Police say the incident happened around 2:00 a.m. outside Costambar Restaurant on the corner of Liberty Avenue and Ashford Street.
According to authorities, 29-year-old Charles Pena died from a wound to his chest. The second victim, a 39-year-old man who was also stabbed in the chest, is listed in critical condition. The third victim, an 18-year-old man who was stabbed in the lower back, is said to be in stable condition.
Police say one of the victims was seen running down the block towards Wartman Avenue, but they do not know why.
Police remain at the scene of the triple stabbing, searching for suspects.
