There may not be a Mega Millions jackpot winner in The Bronx, but three lucky local residents walked away with second-place prizes worth $250,000 each.
One of the second-place tickets was sold at La Cantina on Arthur Avenue, and employees say they've seen business pick up since last night's historic drawing.
The two other stores that sold winning second-place tickets were High Ridge News on Broadway and Harb Discount on East Bedford Park Boulevard. In all, 17 people in New York won $250,000.
Three ticket-holders in Maryland, Kansas and Illinois split the world record-breaking jackpot of $640 million. The winning numbers were 02-04-23-38-46, and the Mega Ball 23.
The winners of the big prize have not been identified. In Maryland, the lucky ticket-holder is not required to go public.
