The 8-year-old boy accused of slashing a classmate at a Bronx school playground has been placed under house arrest.
The boy appeared in family court Thursday after investigators say he used a double-edge razor to cut 9-year-old Richard McKinney at P.S. 132 in Morrisania on Tuesday. McKinney needed six stitches.
A judge also approved a restraining order against the boy, forcing him to stay away from the victim. Lawyers say he faces up to 18 months at a juvenile facility if found guilty.
