Activists rallied Thursday outside a court hearing for a woman accused of abusing a dog inside an elevator back in March.
The incident was captured on surveillance back on March 23. Video appears to show Trinton Hatton dragging her boyfriend's dog across the hall then kicking him several times before throwing him into the elevator.
Hatton was arrested on April 7. The dog was taken to ASPCA three days later.
Activists told News 12 the dogs suffered enough trauma, but their owner Nashon Brown wants them back.
"The dogs were taken away from him, he was incarcerated and now the dogs are at the ASPCA as evidence,” said activist John Cortez. “Broken bones, broken legs, matted hair, just very unkept."
Hatton was requested for a court desk appearance for something unrelated.
