With multiple heat waves and no significant rains, drought conditions have worsened to levels not seen in years and even decades for some.
For those worried about well water drying up, News 12 is offering some water conservation tips from Ready.gov.
A drought monitor shows parts of the Hudson Valley under a "severe drought."
Tips include:

Don't flush the toilet if you don't have to. To get rid of a bug, for example, toss it in the trash.
Don't rinse dishes before they go in the dishwasher, just take off large bits of food.
Don't wash your own car.
Only go to a car wash that recycles water.
Use a broom or blower instead of a hose to clean leaves and other things off your driveway or sidewalk.
