Some Brooklyn teens got help getting ready for prom and graduation thanks to an annual event.

Belle and Beau of the Ball is part of the Junior League of Brooklyn's annual clothing drive to help girls and boys get ready for prom and graduation.

Students went to Dress and Suit Drive in Crown Heights to get dresses, suits, accessories and makeovers. All of the items at the event had been donated.

Organizers say the event aims to give every student in the city an opportunity to dress up and enjoy this time in their lives.

Three young women who won an essay contest also received $1,000 scholarships.

It’s the program's 11th year running the event.
