A day after a seven-alarm fire ripped through an apartment building on New York Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, residents affected are still awaiting to see how much damage was done.
More than 100 families were displaced after the fire at 665 New York Ave.
Many residents are staying at a Red Cross shelter set up at a nearby elementary school on Fenimore Street.
Many residents say that they are thankful for the firefighters who battled the flames and for their lives, but remain anxious over what is left of their apartments.Investigators say it appears lightning may have caused the fire.
