A new app is helping Brooklyn residents share the price of getting where they need to go.
Local entrepreneur Josh Wittman started the app, called "Cab with Me." The app connects users to others looking for a cab nearby who are going to a similar destination. This way, they can share a cab and split the cost.
Wittman says hundreds of Brooklyn customers use his service, especially in the Williamsburg and Greenpoint areas, due to construction being done on the G line train.
For now, Wittman says he isn't making any money off the app. Eventually, he hopes to start charging a fee that would be a small price to pay for the money being saved.
