Police say a teenage suspect is in custody in the bodega shooting that injured an 8-year-old boy Tuesday.
Eduardo Rodriguez, 15, was arrested on charges of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
According to police, the suspect rode his bicycle past Papa Yala's Deli and Grocery at around 8 p.m. Tuesday night and fired a single shot into the crowd standing outside. The bullet missed the intended target and hit Armando Bigo in the shoulder.
Kelly says investigators believe Vigo was caught in the crossfire of two opposing crews.
Bigo is in fair condition at Jacobi Medical Center.
