One aspiring hip-hop artist from Brownsville has a zen twist.
When he isn't making music, DK Got Aura spends his time meditating and replenishing his chakras. He says Asian culture inspires the themes in his music and even the clothing he wears.
The 20-year-old, whose real name is Dornel Kirby, is a student at Medgar Evers College, but his real passion lies in making music. He also wants to launch his own Asian-inspired clothing line.
DK Got Aura says that while achieving fame and fortune sounds great, what he really wants is to be at peace within himself and to put out positive vibes into the world.
