Prosecutors announced new bribery charges today for Brooklyn-based state Assemblyman William Boyland, Jr.

Boyland solicited more than $250,000 in bribes, according to officials.

The new charges come less than three weeks after a jury acquitted the Democratic politician on other bribery charges. In that case, prosecutors claimed he took a no-show job in exchange for doing political favors for a hospital executive.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office says the new charges stem from a separate FBI investigation.

Boyland was released on $100,000 bond. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years behind bars.
