One person is dead, and another was injured after a crash on the Cross Bronx Expressway, according to the NYPD.

Police say at around 2 a.m., a sedan tried to go around the tractor-trailer and got pinned between the trailer and a concrete divider.

The driver is 19 years old and is in stable condition at Jacobi Hospital, but the passenger in that car died. The identities of the driver and passenger have not been released.

The crash did prompt lane closures along the Cross Bronx Expressway. Traffic was redirected to the Major Deegan, but still expect some delays this morning.
