A man is in critical condition after he was struck by a privately-owned sanitation truck Thursday night in Williamsburg, police say.

Authorities say the man was riding his bike when he was hit by the truck at Johnson and Knickerbocker avenues at around 10:20 p.m.

The victim suffered severe hand and leg trauma and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

No word was given on arrests at this time
