Parents with children who have autism got the chance to share their experiences at a summit in Canarsie Thursday.
The event was created by My Time Inc., a group that provides education and support to families with children who have autism or other developmental disabilities.
Many organizations focus on support for children, but those at the summit praised My Time Inc. for providing connections to parents and caregivers as well.
Those in attendance discussed the challenges and experiences of raising an autistic child, while also giving advice to those in a similar situation who might not know where to turn.
My Time Inc. hosts meetings every month for parents of children with autism.
