New York State Senate candidate Manny Tavarez hosted an inaugural baseball cup at Macombs Dam Park over the weekend.
Tavarez donated more than 1,000 baseballs to nine local Little League teams and is working with professional scouts in hopes of opening the first major league baseball youth academy in The Bronx.
The top players got to take on Hank's Yanks, a youth baseball team co-founded by New York Yankees senior vice president Hank Steinbrenner.
