Ahead of Tropical Storm Danny, the city is once again warning beachgoers to use caution if they enter the water this weekend.
The storm, which is moving up the coast and not expected to make landfall, will likely bring high waves and strong rip currents. The city's parks department is monitoring the tide and plans to post warnings accordingly.
The Red Cross says it has increased the number of volunteers on standby if the storm knocks out power or floods homes.
Danny is not expected to hit the borough, but News 12 meteorologists say Saturday's weather will be rainy and windy.
