A group of Bed-Stuy teens decried cigarette smoking Wednesday with a project that aims to shame retailers.
Through demonstrative art, the students portrayed the negative impact tobacco has had on their community.
They created a "contamination" map that marked cigarette sellers surrounding their school. It's part of a nationwide advocacy effort known as "Kick Butts Day."
The teens are part of Reality Check, a Department of Health program.
Experts say tobacco marketers target teens, and the program aims to shoot back.
Reality Check says tobacco retailers are pervasive in areas with high populations of children and young adults.
