Bee-Line buses continue to run today despite a threat by workers to strike if a new contract was not signed by midnight Thursday.
The deadline has passed and negotiations between Liberty Lines and the Transport Workers Union continue. Health benefits, wages and pentions are all issues keeping both sides from reaching a deal.
Liberty Line officials tell News12 progress is being made. They say negotiations are expected to continue sometime next week.
Back in 2005, the union and Liberty Lines couldn't come to an agreement and there was a strike that lasted almost seven weeks.
About 100,000 commuters depend on the buses daily.
