A Brooklyn family is pushing for a new law that would require all newborns to be screened for a deadly brain disease.
The Seeger family says their son Aidan suffered from Adrenoleukodystrophy, a metabolic disease that affects the brain. The family knew something was wrong when the very active 6-year-old began to lose his vision and suffer from constant pain. Aidan passed away at just 7 years old.
The Seeger's hope Aidans Law, supported by several state lawmakers and people around the world, will be passed as soon as possible.
