BK man first to be charged under 'Crimes Against Police' law

A Brooklyn man was the first person to be charged under the new ?Crimes Against Police? law at his bedside Thursday. Police say 25-year-old Damien Henry is responsible for shooting at officers last weekend.

A Brooklyn man was the first person to be charged under the new ?Crimes Against Police? law at his bedside Thursday.
Police say 25-year-old Damien Henry is responsible for shooting at officers last weekend. According to authorities, Henry opened fire after a bouncer refused to let him into a Utica Avenue nightclub. None of the officers were injured, but 18 bullets struck Henry.
Henry was formally charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of weapons. Police say he was out on bail for shooting a restaurant?s windows in June at the time of the incident. Under the new state law, Henry faces a minimum of 20 to 40 years behind bars.
