BK man inducted into US Chess Hall of Fame
A Brooklyn man became the first African-American inducted into the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame last month.
Maurice Ashley also became the first black grandmaster of chess in 1999.
Ashley says he owes all of his accolades to his training in Brooklyn.
He hopes his accomplishments inspire other black chess players to follow his footsteps.
