It was one big party on Fifth Avenue as many, including Brooklyn residents, traveled to Manhattan Sunday to experience the sights and sounds of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade.
Spectators said the parade is all about pride. They said it is an event for the young and old alike.
Dancers, musicians and elected officials were all part of the celebration. Spectators cheered, waved flags and dressed in red, white and blue.
Brooklyn Puerto Ricans said they enjoyed showing their pride at this year?s parade, and look forward to it every year.
Pop star Ricky Martin served as this year?s parade king and Bronx native Jennifer Lopez rode down Fifth Avenue as well.
