After state lawmakers put the brakes on Mayor Michael Bloomberg's plan to install speed cameras around the city, the mayor came up with another idea to slow down speeders: public shame.
Bloomberg said on his weekly radio address that he wants to post the names, pictures and license plate numbers of drivers caught speeding in a public place so that everyone can see who they are.
The mayor has not said exactly what public forum the city would use to shame people with a heavy foot.
