Mayor Michael Bloomberg has signed a bill to rename a local street corner after an officer from The Bronx.
The corner of East Mosholu Parkway and Webster Avenue will now be known as the Police Officer Eric Hernandez Memorial Corner.
The 24-year-old from the 52nd Precinct was in plainclothes when he was beaten by six men in 2006. Police say fellow officer Alfredo Toto arrived and shot Hernandez, who was armed, not realizing that he was a cop.
