Borough Park residents are celebrating a new pedestrian traffic light that was nearly two years in the making.
Neighbors say they began fighting for the light at the intersection of 42nd Street and New Utrecht Avenue because it was dangerous for children walking between a nearby park and two schools.
The Department of Transportation (DOT) had stalled the installation, saying it wanted to wait for MTA construction in the area to wrap up.
