Borough Park is home of the highest birth rate in Brooklyn

More children are born in Borough Park than in any other part of Brooklyn, according to the New York City Health Department. Officials say there are about a dozen babies born each day in the neighborhood.

More children are born in Borough Park than in any other part of Brooklyn, according to the New York City Health Department. Officials say there are about a dozen babies born each day in the neighborhood. Twenty-four children per 1,000 residents are born each year. The baby boom has been connected to the area?s large Orthodox Jewish community. Sunset Park had the second highest birth rate in Brooklyn with 21 births per 1,000 residents for 2004.
