Bronx commuters to city: You need to do better
The borough dealt with heavy traffic left over from Thursday's snowstorm all throughout the morning commute.
In Norwood, people were still sitting in traffic early Friday morning.
Gun Hill Road leading up to the Saw Mill River Parkway saw major congestion because of broken down MTA buses.
Also the Major Deegan Expressway was backed up through Fordham.
News 12 spoke to some of the drivers who say they were still on their way home from work Thursday night. They say by the time they get home they'll have to just turn right back around and head into the office.
Let down by what residents say was an unprepared city, neighbors hope the borough is better taken care of the next time a storm comes to town.
"Out here ya'll don't care, so who ever is responsible, transit, sanitation whoever, ya'll need to do better,” says Bronx resident Karl Shaft.
Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. told News 12 he understands residents’ frustration with the city's response to the storm.
"I felt New Yorkers pain yesterday and apparently somebody dropped the ball. I understand that the shutdown of the GW has a domino effect, the West Side Highway on the FDR, The Cross Bronx, the Bruckner and so on and so forth, but when people took to the local streets, what we saw is that there was a lack of treatment,” says Borough President Diaz.
