A hip-hop pioneer is looking to inspire the next generation of artists in the Boogie Down Bronx.

It was the summer of 1973 when many say the sounds of hip-hop were first heard at a house party in the rec room at 1520 Sedgwick Ave.

News 12's Noelle Lilley spoke with KRS-One about the anniversary of hip-hop and a new global logo competition that is taking place from April 28 to May 31.

KRS-One is a Bronx native and hip-hop pioneer known for classics like 1193's "Sound of da Police." He was also one-third of the hip-hop trio Boogie Down Productions.
