Bronx Historical Society offers Mott Haven walking tour, screening of ‘Up Jump The Boogie’

The Bronx Historical Society is offering a list of activities for Bronx residents to explore and learn more about the history of their borough.

The Bronx Historical Society is offering some activities for Bronx residents this weekend.
On Saturday morning, it hosted a walking tour of Mott Haven, one of the borough’s first developed areas and a center of manufacturing in the 19th century. The tour focused on neighborhood’s history, demographic change and architecture location.
On Saturday afternoon, there will be a screening of “Up Jump The Boogie: History of Dance Movement” about the history of the dance crew, General Electric, at the Museum of Bronx History.
