A Bronx veteran has been named to the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame in recognition of his service.
Jeremy Warneke joined the guard at 17 to help pay for his college education. Sen. Jeffrey D. Klein, (D-Bronx/Westchester) nominated him for the veterans' hall of fame for both his service to the country and public service at home in the Bronx.
Warneke currently serves as Community Board 11's district manager, but also served 14 months in Iraq during his time with the Illinois Army National Guard.
Klein's office says distinguished veterans are selected from each Senate district once a year for the prestigious honor.
