Frustrated parents tell News 12 The Bronx that the back-to-school season so far has been full of hectic mornings because of school buses that are late or that skip stops altogether. Parents who are made late for work by tardy buses say they're especially fed up. The GVC Bus Company located on Zerega Avenue has been the subject of several complaints. The company caters to many developmentally disabled children in The Bronx, and parents say that the drivers often show up hours late, pass by without stopping, or don't show up at all.The company declined to speak with News 12 The Bronx. The city's Department of Education says that city school buses transport about 140,000 kids every day, and that most drivers are getting their jobs done. The department says it typically receives more complaints about buses in the beginning of the school year.
