A local artist is working on beautifying The Bronx one sculpture at a time despite some financial restraints. Christian Marche is putting together his second street sculpture, a tower of recycled bicycles, but he needs $15,000 in funding. The Fordham Road Business Improvement District has already allocated $2,000 toward the project. Residents who live near the 32-year-old say they watch him at work behind his apartment building and would like to see more art pieces throughout the borough. Marche says he hopes to get his latest sculpture completed and installed at Rose Hill Park by mid-November.
