Some local student artists are using their lunchroom tables as a canvas to send a message.
The kids used their large-scale creativity to express important issues within their communities. Students at I.S. 219X chose bullying as their topic, while the Accion Academy picked a peace and love theme.
The colorful tables are going on display in Claremont and Crotona parks for the summer. The project is part of the Youth Art in The Bronx program, which was launched five years ago and brings together kids from 10 public middle schools throughout the city.
