A Bronx teacher is using TikTok to help her students succeed.
Nicole Lehocsky knows how hard it is to keep children’s attention over Zoom.
She decided to use TikTok to reel them in.
“I’m using it to try to get my students’ attention,” Lehocsky says. “I do short mini video lessons for them.”
Lehocsky says she does funny things that stand out in her students’ minds and that they look forward to seeing what video she is going to post next.
The Rockland woman, who teaches in the Bronx, says her students are participating more now.
“Fourth grade, elementary school, middle school, they’re all interested in TikTok,” Lehocsky says.
In just over a year, the teacher went from a few followers to over 18,000.
“If honestly I just reached out student, I would be happy,” Lehocsky says. “18,000 is amazing.”
Lehocsky says if she gets 25,000 followers, she’ll dye her hair blue.
